Plants were integrated into the spaces as they are a part of the stop. One cannot look complete without the other. Adding to that, these plants and panelling structure also celebrates multiculturalism of UNSW as they were inspired by Japanese architecture.

Even though most of the  stop is made of concrete, a touch of warmness was added through the material: wood.  The circular form on the ceiling that is lower than the ceiling level creates a sense of intimacy within the space. Therefore, despite having the cold concrete as the dominant material, the material wood really creates a balance and welcoming feeling. This fills the gap between nature and people.

The circular form of the structure was made into a bench and the area in the middle into a small garden. The idea behind this was so that people would mingle whilst waiting for the light train to arrive. This structure also draws people's attention as the tree (nature) provides shade from the sun and the material chosen (wood) really gives a welcoming feeling.
