Minimalist x Edgy
Material Selection:
Concrete - Acts as a support to the stairs (the ribs in the middle)
Timber - Triggers a welcoming feeling.

Minimalist x Edgy Material Selection: Concrete - this material is chosen because of it's smoothness and simplicity |
The first floor's height needs to be increased as this functions as a public space (showroom).

Graphic x Edgy
As this stair is located in the front of the building, I have chosen timber as the material as it triggers a welcoming feeling, adding to that, as the the stairs are dug into the ground, it also compliments the nature (merge into the nature).

Building in response to the environment
Inspired by The Foundation Cartier by the Architect Jean Novel, I have made the exhibition hall to be made of all glass, fully glazed. This creates an illusion of the space merging with the green landscape that surrounds the building. The idea is that the windows can be slide open to create an extension of the hall into the garden.
The light stairs I designed that goes from the ground floor to the first floor was meant to create a sense of a grand entrance from the Givenchy workshop into the exhibition space, the support of the stairs gives hints into the users of what's going on in the hall.
